4rch4nge7
A narrative-driven level art project built around environmental storytelling, oppressive atmospheric lighting, and high-contrast cyberpunk aesthetics.
Set in a decaying hotel-turned-hacker lair, the environment tracks a rogue cyborg named 447 as she dives into cyberpsychosis after losing her three daughters (angels) to a raider attack.
To capture her grief, I scattered chaotic CRT monitor installations throughout the rooms - glitching visual reminders and makeshift artistic setups that reflect her lingering trauma. Bright red cables cut through the dark, dusty woodwork, acting as natural paths for the player while amping up the tension until the dramatic finale.

I set out to push my rapid iteration skills and challenge myself with a tight sprint.
My goal was to refine my core strengths in narrative design, level art, and environmental storytelling by building an atmospheric space driven purely by non-verbal context. By blending retro-futuristic tech and interior design with oppressive lighting, I aimed to tell a tragic story entirely through the environment, pulling the player into an eerie, high-stakes bounty hunt.
I wanted to create a striking portfolio piece that seamlessly translates complex lore into intuitive, highly visual level design without relying on text dumps or cutscenes.
In just 10 days, I designed and built 4rch4nge7, a compact, high-impact proof of concept capturing a traumatized cyborg’s descent into grief and paranoia
